Second suspect in the Boston marathon Bombing caught

A second suspect in the Boston marathon finish line bombing was taken into custody lastnight in the town of Watertown, MA.Boston police sources said they took in injured Dagestan citizen, 19-year-old Dzhokar Tsarnaev. Mr.  Tsarnaev was arrested inside a parked boat in Watertown after a police standoff that lasted several hours. Residents in the community cheered the police as the suspect was captured alive. His brother was killed last night in a shootout with the police.

Explosion Rocks Texas Fertilizer Plant. 180 people Hospitalized 5 feared dead.

A fire and chemical explosion at a Texas fertilizer plant in a small town north of Waco sent at least 180 people to hospitals, flattened buildings, prompted widespread evacuations and left as many as five to 15 people feared dead.
The initial blast at the West Fertilizer Plant in West, Texas, occurred just before 8 p.m. Wednesday, but officials still were struggling to tally the dead and injured early this morning and searching door to door amid the rubble for survivors, Sgt. William Patrick Swanton of the Waco Police Department said.

President Goodluck Jonathan has begged to be left alone to focus on delivering on his political promises to Nigerians, instead of being drawn into alleged 2015 moves.
In a statement today, his spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati, refuted a newspaper report that a 21-member committee has been set up towards Jonathan’s 2015 campaign, saying that Mr. Jonathan has not yet taken a decision on whether or not he will seek re-election in 2015 and has therefore not mandated any individual, committee or organisation to start working on his behalf for the 2015 elections.“President Jonathan’s stated wish to be left alone to focus on delivering on his promise of good governance and national transformation without unnecessary distractions should be respected,” the statement said.  “Political jobbers and their collaborators in the media should stop heating up the polity with baseless speculations and falsehoods revolving around imaginary plans and schemes by the Presidency for the 2015 elections.”

US CH-53 Super Stallion helicopter military helicopter crashes near North Korea border

A US military helicopter taking part in a joint South Korea-US drill crashed Tuesday near the North Korean border with 21 personnel on board. There were no fatalities.A statement put out by the US Forces in Korea said the CH-53 Super Stallion helicopter had “executed a hard landing” while on a routine flight operation in Cheolwon county, which touches on the border with North Korea.

10 killed as herdsmen, villagers clash in Delta state

A violent clash between villagers in the Ogume community in Delta state and suspected Fulani herdsmen has left at least 10 dead, reports have said.Vanguard reports that the villagers challenged the herdsmen who they claim allowed their cattle vandalise farmlands in the area.There was tension in the community, located in Ndokwa West local government area, following the clash on Saturday evening. A community leader told newsmen: “My community was invaded by Hausa herdsmen using AK 47 rifles and six people were killed while three persons still missing are believed to have been killed too. The most painful aspect was that all efforts to make the police to come to our rescue were abortive.”Police have confirmed the report and, as usual, promise that an investigation is ongoing.

Two bombs exploded in the crowded streets near the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Monday, killing at least three people and injuring more than 140 in a bloody scene of shattered glass and severed limbs that raised alarms that terrorists might have struck again in the U.S.A.
